It is advisable not to take the pill before your hours of sleep as it may interfere with your sleeping schedule and that is not a good practice to keep up your body working for too long. Modafinil 200mg:

This dose is taken by those who are diagnosed or are experiencing circadian rhythmic sleep disorders, who find it difficult to manage their body’s sleep-wake cycle. They do not find modafinil 100mg effective and so they go for this dosage.

Modafinil 400mg:

This the maximum dosage amount that can be taken in a day. It always best to leave this decision to your doctor as they would advise you and let you know that consuming such an amount will agree with your body conditions or not. If you are prone to any adverse reactions it would be under the supervision of your doctor.
